Our (short) Story
Down to Earth is the new summer services division of Cedar Hollow Services (CHS), which operates as Dayflower Dave's Snow Removal in the winter. CHS has serviced more than 100 customers with a 98% season-to-season return rate (70% or better is considered strong in snow removal) and has never received a report of damage from any of its clients.

Down to Earth blossomed out of the success of Dayflower Dave's, and out of the shocking - though consistent - stories about poor service from big landscaping companies. Our goal is to bring the tailored, attentive approach to each of our local customers that is often reserved for larger corporations and chains.

Our Founder
David
The grandson and nephew of ministers, David grew up on a farm in Virginia, where his early years included tractor driving lessons and lots of wood splitting. After nearly a decade of farm work, including mowing, mulching, crop care, and more, he went to college at George Mason University, earning both a Bachelor's degree and his Master's of Public Administration in 2017 - at age 21. David worked for health technology startups in Madison, San Francisco and Denver before starting his own startup - Cedar Hollow Services - in 2022. In addition to a childhood-grown passion for land care, David is also a licensed pilot, latin dance performer, and game designer.

Our Co-Owner
Julie
Julie has always had a love for the outdoors and making the most of what the earth provides. A Wisconsin native, Julie brings passion and landscaping experience to the team. Julie's farm in Monticello, WI gets a lot of work too, and many days you could find Julie outside... chopping wood, seeding her lawn, or working on her garden.
